Recently, Chen Rong, General Manager of Guangdong Yangcheng Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., was interviewed by a reporter from Guangdong Stainless Steel Association.

Author: When did you enter the industry? What was the integrity management status of the stainless steel industry at that time?

Chen Rong: Yangcheng has been in operation for over 25 years since my father Jiushu was founded. I came back from abroad at the end of 2010 to help my father enter this industry. At that time, the development status of the stainless steel industry was not as fierce as it is now. It is now clear that the recovery period from the 2008 financial crisis to the 2010 financial storm did not have a positive impact, but there is still some impact. From 2011 to now, the overall economic environment has been downward, especially in the past two years. According to data, the GDP in 2014 was 720, which was 6.5 in 2015, showing a downward trend. The tightening of banking policies has led to increasingly fierce competition among enterprises. Moreover, the threshold for entering the stainless steel industry is not high, and more and more people are joining, making competition even more intense. In this situation, the issue of integrity becomes increasingly serious. In the face of interests, most people choose to be selfish, which will lead to problems such as breach of contract, failure to act according to the contract, arrears, and running away. 
 
 Author: How do you understand the word "integrity"?

    
Chen Rong: Honesty, in fact, when taken apart, means "sincerity" - treating people with sincerity and honesty; Faithful, trustworthy, and trustworthy. I remember my father once said to me, "If a company wants long-term development, honesty is the most crucial element. My name has the word 'city', and the company name also has the word 'honesty'. Honesty is our core, putting honesty first and putting people first. Keep promises and keep promises. Honesty is the foundation of all values, and honesty is the greatest wealth. Since I took over the management of the company, I have always kept in mind my father's teachings and adhered to the "integrity" values of Yangcheng. No matter what work I carry out, it revolves around integrity. Therefore, to this day, Guangdong Yangcheng is still steadily developing in the industry, which cannot do without the support of many new and old customers, as well as the quality of treating people with sincerity and putting integrity first. 
   

Author: Regarding honest management, have there been any things that have left a deep impression on you in your years of managing the company? Can you share it with everyone?

Chen Rong: I remember one thing that was very profound. At that time, a local customer was unable to make payment at the agreed time. After negotiation with the actual business situation of the company, both my father and I felt that the other party was honest. The company only encountered temporary turnover difficulties, and there were no fraud or operational issues. Therefore, we decided to give the customer more time to turnover. As a result, the customer had already paid the payment before the agreed time and was very grateful for the help and understanding we provided at that time. Their company has achieved stable development, and we have become very good partners. In fact, in the development process of Yangcheng, we have always treated people with sincerity, hoping for the healthy development of the industry. Those who treat others with sincerity also respond with sincerity. May the flower of integrity bloom forever. And the brand, which is the accumulated reputation of integrity over the years, is a huge wealth. Author: Guangdong Yangcheng has been established for 25 years. What do you think is the reason for the success of the enterprise?

Chen Rong: I think the reason for our success is, firstly, the quality of the pipe making machine is good, the performance is stable, and the company has a good reputation. Secondly, Jiushu and Yangcheng adhere to treating people with sincerity, based on honesty, and trustworthy. Thirdly, we will continue to research and innovate, with the goal of achieving Industry 4.0, and strive to create efficient intelligent pipe factories for our customers. This year, Guangdong Yangcheng established a research and development department, attracting top pipe making equipment talents from Taiwan and China, and continuously launching patented products, such as high-end intelligent pipe making machines, mid range fluid pipe equipment, high-frequency pipe making machines, and so on. Yangcheng has been established for 25 years, thanks to the strong trust and support of many new and old customers. Its user praise and quality have always been at the forefront of the industry. Yangcheng will continue to inherit the integrity based business philosophy and strive to provide high-quality and advanced products to our customers.

Author: How does Guangdong Yangcheng do in terms of integrity management?

Chen Rong: We have also encountered many pricing errors due to production cycles, rising material prices, inaccurate calculations, and other issues, but Yangcheng has never had the opportunity to add money to customers. Because my father told me that when a contract is signed, it is signed. Even rat poison must be swallowed, and one must make every promise, whether it is profit or loss, one must strive to achieve what one promises.

In terms of products, quality must be guaranteed, and we must strive for excellence and strive to improve the quality of our products. The customer is buying our product, so our product must be genuine and affordable, ensuring that the quality of each product sold is stable, excellent, and can meet the customer's requirements for use;

In terms of service, we are committed to providing a one-stop thoughtful service. In an increasingly competitive environment, we not only look at the products provided, but also hope to provide thoughtful services and turnkey engineering. Committed to providing fast and thoughtful services to existing customers. As we have now moved to Foshan and the location is convenient, we promise to "solve the problem on the same day". If there are special circumstances that cannot be arranged, we must also provide a clear time and arrange for handling. This year, the after-sales team of Guangdong Yangcheng has increased to 6 people, hoping to provide fast, convenient and thoughtful services to our customers. The turnkey project is mainly aimed at new customers entering the industry. We do our best to provide services in terms of factory planning and layout, machine selection and configuration, production process training, and selection and recommendation of production personnel. After 25 years of development, Yangcheng has accumulated a lot of industry experience. Our team is dedicated to helping them enter the smooth production track as soon as possible and avoid detours. We hope that through such services, the key to success can be handed over to customers, who can open the door to success. Author: What areas do you think our company needs to improve in terms of integrity management?

Chen Rong: Guangdong Yangcheng just moved to Foshan at the beginning of this year, and the entire process also encountered many unexpected situations. In addition to the equipment and the entire process design, there is a transitional period during which there may be delays in delivery. At that time, we took various remedial measures and made efforts to improve our production process, improve our production efficiency, identify the reasons and quickly fill these loopholes. Fortunately, after adjustments in the first half of the year, production efficiency has significantly improved. Currently, we produce 40 to 50 pipe making machines per month, which is relatively smooth. We are making progress in all aspects now, and we are correcting the mistakes that have occurred before. We sincerely apologize and continue to work hard to provide high-quality products for our customers.

Author: Do you have any expectations for the integrity management activities established by the Guangdong Stainless Steel Materials and Products Association?

Chen Rong: I think the activity established by the association this time is very good because it is precisely in this competitive situation. Nowadays, some manufacturers have resorted to various forms of false behavior, such as using substandard materials or falsely reporting thickness. These people may have become accustomed to it, but this is the most dangerous. Therefore, the integrity management activity organized by the association this time is equivalent to a clean flow, impacting dishonest enterprises and making them aware. Their actions can bring short-term benefits, but in the long run, they will affect the entire industry, and the enterprise itself will not be able to go far. So this event can lead the entire industry to recognize right and wrong, what is advocated, and what is not advocated, at least with a boundary. Then expect the association to establish a healthy and honest environment as soon as possible; Secondly, implement industry standards as soon as possible; Finally, I hope that this event can lead various peers towards the same goal and promote the healthy development of the entire industry.
